Today we welcome Barket Club Member, Susi, to give you her insight into what being a club member is like. — Hi, I’m Susi and I share my life with two black Labradors. Bramble is a 6-month pup and Kenny is 9-years old. I’ve been a member of the Barket Club for 4 months. […]
We’ve all probably laughed at the videos of dogs attacking the vacuum. To us, it’s often amusing but to a dog, it can be a frightening experience. Instead of saving the housework for when they are not home, there are a few simple steps you can follow to help your canine housemate feel happier about the hoover.
It’s bin collection day here. Cue a chorus of barking around the neighbourhood. Traditionally, bins were collected once a week by just one waste collection vehicle. Today, we can end up with three or four vehicles (bringing lots of banging and people outside your home) coming on a single day – as they collect the […]
Earlier this week I was chatting live over in our “Connect with Your Dog” group and I asked you to imagine a scenario… Imagine you’re alone on a dark night. You’ve decided to watch a new horror movie. You’re quite comfortable, enjoying the plotline… but you know something’s coming. One of those “jump out of […]
From today, people living in England are allowed unlimited social-distanced exercise opportunities – as well as being able to travel to different locations. You might be feeling excited about the new adventures you can go on, favourite destinations you can return to, and being able to get out with your dog more than once a day. While I don’t want to put a downer on things, I am here with a word of caution. Diving straight back into a more rigorous exercise routine might not be the best thing for you – and especially not for your dog.
Are you taking part in our ‘Paws Up for the NHS’ Challenge? The last few weeks have been really unsettling – for both us and our dogs. We wanted to give you something to focus your dog’s minds on, bring a smile to your face, and support our heroic keyworkers. ‘Paws Up for the NHS’ […]
We’re partnering with Dog Furiendly and other dog-related businesses, to support Bark Aid, a virtual dog show that will raise funds for charities that desperately need support to cope with Coronavirus (COVID-19). We all know that COVID-19 is having detrimental effects on our society in the UK and the rest of the world. Bark Aid […]
I’m sure you’re sick of reading more information about COVID-19 but the truth is, it will affect us all in some way – whether that be through a change in the way we work, how we can interact with family and friends, or even the ways we entertain our dogs. It might not be something you’ve […]
This week, we’ve been presenting at the Petcare Innovation Summit in London. We were invited along to present our new digital experience, PUP, as part of the emerging brands Best in Show award. PUP has two simple missions: Take the stress out of pet parenting; and reduce the chance that a dog may end up in a rescue centre.
The day has arrived when you can finally take your new puppy out for its first walk. For pet parents, this pretty much equates to sending your (human) child to school on their first day. You step out into the world together all excited to introduce them to life outside your home… they take a step forward… and then the breaks go on.
